Althea Oelofse & Associates specialise in the manufacture of mascots, character costumes (used as marketing tools for products in advertising), road shows (to schools and consumer venues), puppets and human caricatures.

We either help the client design from scratch, using a highly skilled animator, or reproduce the client's already existing mascot design to absolute detail.

Althea Oelofse's background is in model-building and puppetry for television. She has been working in this field since 1980 after finishing her 3 year Interior Design Diploma at Pretoria Technicon.

Character costumes and mascots come in all shapes and sizes. They are used in public awareness and promotional campaigns, as well as very successful educational tools in road shows and schools.

Puppetry can be used for internal communication initiatives, or as spokespeople. Puppets are used for a large selection of corporate & television clients and we have a few shows running currently on SABC’s children shows.
